WP1 – Frontiers, nationalism and feelings of belonging

Conducting research into the impact of debates over slavery and abolition in nineteenth century European political culture.

Constructing a database of campaigning organisations, travellers’ accounts and formal constitutional arrangements that will become one of the deliverables for workpackage 1.

Research interests include nineteenth century history and cultural politics, colonialism and Empire, postcolonial studies, and history and memory in Caribbean literature.
